"Patent Troll" Craig Wright is waiting for approval of 155 applications for blockchain solutions, which never mentions bitcoin

Senior researcher at nChain Craig Wright since August 2017 filed 155 patent applications with the mention of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. This writes the Next Web, citing data from the world intellectual property organization (WIPO).

Thus, 114 patents of Craig Wright relate directly to the technology of the distributed register, six-to cryptocurrencies. A few more applications mention smart contracts and digital assets.

It is noteworthy that in no patent the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto uses the term bitcoin.

It is expected that WIPO will issue to the Wright's patents only in the case that its decisions will be recognized as quite innovative.

At the same time, according to mark Kaufman, co-Chairman of the intellectual property Council in the field of blockchain at the us Chamber of digital Commerce, Wright's goal is not to create innovative solutions, but to resell the rights to inventions to third parties.

"His tactics and actions to collect patents have all the signs of "trolling". I'm not aware of any of his company's products," he said in a Fortune comment.

Recall that in July 2018, the European patent office issued nChain three patents for the invention of new methods of protection of digital rights using distributed registry technology.
