Bitcoin hashrate reached its highest levels in the last four months

The total computing power in the bitcoin network reached the indicators of the beginning of November last year, which is the maximum level for the last four months.

So, according to the data Blockchain.com, on Tuesday, March 19, the figure was over 52 EH / s.

Recall, under the hashrate refers to the total computing power of mining equipment involved in the process of mining cryptocurrency.

As experts have repeatedly reminded before, the price of bitcoin follows the hashrate, and the growth of this indicator indicates that optimism in the market, in particular among miners, not only persists, but also increases.

Note that the historical maximum hashrate in the bitcoin network was recorded in August 2018 – then this figure was about 62 EH/s.

It is also worth noting that the current level of the hashrate is more than four times higher than the indicators that could be observed in December 2017, when the price of bitcoin rose to a historic high of around $20,000.

At the same time, the complexity of bitcoin, despite the increased hashrate, remains at the levels of early February.

As of early March, about 75% of the bitcoin hashrate was controlled by six mining pools, half of which are "directly or indirectly" controlled by the Chinese company Bitmain.
